What a great evening the African Meal and Quiz Night turned out to be!  A huge thank you to everyone in the community who came along and joined in and to those whose hard work had pulled it all together behind the scenes. The evening has raised just over £1000 to support the TearFund Church and Community Mobilisation Project (CCMP) in Berega, Tanzania.

Anna-Grace Harvey told us all about what life is like out in Berega, having just returned from her visit in October, and showed some pictures of the people and communites she met out there.

The CCMP project works to empower the local communities to address the needs of their communities and trains key personnel who then facilitate activities in their home villages for the benefit of all. This is an exciting process of mobilising the community as the church begins to be ‘salt and light’ by encouraging and supporting communities to analyse their own situations, and to take steps to work together to make changes for the better.

The evening itself had a complete African flavour with Tanzanian Chicken Curry, and other African food, amazing tropical fruit platters, an African playlist of music and African beers and wines and special Kenyan coffee.  The after dinner entertainment was an African themed quiz organised by Mark Winter that tested the grey cells and kept everyone on their toes.

Thank you to everyone involved!
