Being a young person today can be both complex and confusing. As children grow up at St Michael’s we continue to encourage them into their teenage years, providing a safe space where they can be themselves and feel supported as they make transitions in their lives. We do this in these main ways:
- Involving young people in church life so they feel part of a wider family, feel valued and trusted to take on areas of leadership and responsibility
- Running a younger teens youth group in partnership with Alnwick Baptist Church called M630 (Years 8 & 9) that meets at the Vicarage on a Monday evening
- Running a ‘tweens’ youth group in partnership with Alnwick Baptist Church called T630 (Years 6 & 7) that meets at the Vicarage on a Tuesday evening
- Running a Youth Cell in partnership with Alnwick Baptist Church. This consists of a group of young people (school years 10 to 13) who meet every week to share food together and discuss a specific topic and how it relates to their faith. Friendship is really important and this group aims to build relationships and peer support as well as regular social meet ups.
