Our 5 o’clock service this month was a venture into the outdoors as we celebrated God’s creation and the nature around us as Mark Winter invited us to what he called ‘Nature Church’.  We sang God’s praises with songs led by the worship group before heading outside to either have a quiet time of reflection or, for those who wanted to be more active, use an activity sheet to guide us in an exploration of the churchyard and the nature within it.

Can you think what the 4 yellow flowers are that are in bloom at the moment?

What colour are the wild poppies there?

Could we record and identify any birdsong?

Could we find leaves from 7 different trees?

Could you find the White Archangel? – Photo here in case that helps.

The service ended with prayers and a song outside before our shared meal at Sue & John’s house. Next month (June 19th) will be a service based on music and everyone was invited to let Libby Taylor know details of any special hymns/songs/pieces of music that were special to us and significant in some way so these could feature as part of the service.
