Our six week Lent Study starts on Thursday 3rd March. Each week will
cover a separate topic so it will be easy to dip in and out of the series if it’s not possible to attend all
six.
We’ll meet at 7.30pm with tea/coffee to start at 7.45pm and finish by 9pm. The study each week will
be held in the Community Room in St. Michael’s Church, Felton and online through Zoom:

The six weeks of Lent are a journey. We’ll be following the Church of England’s theme based on
the Archbishop of Canterbury’s chosen book for Lent, Embracing Justice. For many people, Lent is a
time of fasting, of choosing to go without. This year, we are remembering the cry of the Prophet Isaiah:
‘Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice?’ (Isaiah 58 v6).
As we travel together towards God’s promised world, where his justice and mercy reign, we are called to be speakers and seekers of justice. We reflect on the injustices of the world and ask what God is calling us to do about
them. Each week we will follow a different thread through the many stories of justice in the Bible to
explore how God works with humanity to bring justice, wholeness and salvation to all. Our journey
through Lent is one in which we seek inner transformation to be people of a new world, people who reflect
God’s vision that all are created equal.
