Our Harvest Service this year had a theme of ‘God’s creation’ and as we gathered together there was the opportunity to marvel at all the amazing aspects of the world we have to enjoy but also the challenge for us to look after it.  The children were invited to draw pictures of what they most liked about creation or create pictures using playdoh and  beans and seeds.  We collected and donated non-perishable food and household goods for the local foodbank and our collection was donated to Waste Aid who share waste management and recycling skills in the world’s poorest places.  James made us aware of a campaign being run by Tear Fund encouraging four large multinational companies to take responsibility for their plastic waste in poorer countries by making four ‘Not Rubbish’ commitments:

REPORT   REDUCE    RECYCLE   RESTORE

Afterwards we all shared in a simple harvest lunch of bread and soup. Many thanks to all who provided and served us with a delicious lunch.
