We started our new term at St Michael’s with a Back to School with God service on September 8th. We weren’t just thinking about school but about all those starting new terms, new jobs, those who teach and those who support our children and young people through their years of education and growing up.
We also formally welcomed Tom & Kathy McConnachie into their new role as overseers and co-ordinators for our children’s and youth activities at church and beyond.

We were encouraged to think about how we could be ‘Tasty’  -like salt, ‘Bright’ – like light and ‘Smelly’ as in a perfume/fragrance in our environment but mainly we talked about being able to be a light and what that might look like living in our world as followers of Jesus.

We made a ‘prayer tunnel’ and all the children and young people circulated around the church as the church members prayed for them.  We also wrote prayers on stars that were hung on a the tree at the front of church.

A reminder that we are called to ‘Let our light shine’ finished our service in the form of a song from LZ7
